How do I activate my phone upon arrival?

Step 1: Please call customer applications via cell by dialing *228 from 8am-9pm EST Mon.-Fri., 9am-9pm EST Sat. or 11am-7pm EST Sun.

You will need the following information:
Mobile Number, Zip Code
Last 4 digits of the Account Holder’s SSN

Bluegrass Cellular order #
(Located on the top of your packing slip)

Step 2: Complete the Activation
1. Insert the battery into your new mobile phone and power it ON.
2. Dial *228 Send to complete the activation. When the activation has completed, your phone will read Activation Successful. This may take a few minutes.

How do I pay for a ringback tone?

After you have registered for the service and have purchased a ringback tone, the charge will appear on your monthly Bluegrass Cellular bill.

How many ringback tones may I buy?

You may buy as many ringback tones as you wish.

What is the caller greeting?

Callers unfamiliar with ringback tones can be taken by surprise the first time they hear one. So, if you wish, we can preface the ringback tone of your choice with the caller greeting, a brief spoken message that introduces ringback tones to your caller. You can discontinue the caller greeting anytime by deselecting the box.

May I listen to a ringback tone before deciding to buy it?

You bet! Just click Preview on the Ringback Tones page to listen to any song or clip free of charge.

What is the standard ring overlay?

Callers unfamiliar with ringback tones can be taken by surprise the first time they hear one. So, if you wish, we can overlay the traditional “ring ring” with the ringback tone of your choice. You can discontinue the standard ring overlay anytime by deselecting the box.

What is a default ringback tone?

A default ringback tone is one you choose for all other callers not on your My Callers list. So, random callers—the school principal, for example, or your crazy Aunt Mildred—will hear your default ringback tone when they are trying to track you down.

What happens if the message is too long?

A message that is longer than 160 characters will be divided into two messages.

Can someone send me a message if they don't have email?

Yes, if they can go to our send text message page, they can send a message.

What happens to my messages when I am out of the area or my phone is turned off?

Messages are stored for 7 days and will automatically be sent once your phone is on in our home area.
