All the things we at Bluegrass are doing here in the Bluegrass to make life more fun and more connected for everyone. Here are a few things we are excited about!
Battles of the Bluegrass
Battles in the Bluegrass is an ongoing initiative from Bluegrass Cellular that gives local high schools the chance to compete in featured football and basketball games. By participating in Battles, each school is awarded $250, as well as the chance to compete for the $1,000 end-of-season prize, “Play of the Season.”
Bluegrass Cellular promotes each Battle by reaching out to local media, fans and the community to generate as much excitement as possible. As a result, the games become pep rallies for the entire community with halftime activities, fan-appreciation giveaways and special prizes, like stadium chairs and Battles gear.
Following the final Battles game, Bluegrass Cellular selects one outstanding play from each team’s highlight reel. The videos are uploaded to the Football and Basketball pages of the Battles website, where fans can watch the featured plays and cast their votes. The winning school takes home $1,000, as well as the coveted title of “Play of the Season.”
Bluegrass Cellular hosts an annual 5K race to benefit local cross country teams at Elizabethtown, John, Central, North Hardin Christian and North Hardin High Schools.
This event also includes a Fun Run/Walk that benefits Greenspace, Inc., a non-profit organization that maintains the walking trails in Hardin County.

Wireless Safety Programs
Texting has its own language. We use that language as a life line to connect to our friends, family and co-workers. We send pictures. We chat. We text. That’s why Bluegrass Cellular is working to raise awareness about the risks of texting and driving. We are reminding all employees and their families that when it comes to driving a vehicle, all text messages can – and should – wait. Drive Now, Text L8r. Take the pledge now.
Bluegrass Cellular challenges high school students in the community to create a PSA to inform the community about the dangers of distracted driving. Download the PSA Guidelines, Official Contest Rules, Participation Agreement, and 2014 Registration Form below:
Bluegrass Cellular is happy to assist local students in continuing their education. Eighteen scholarships valued at $1,500 will be awarded each year to deserving students in our service area. Use the below links to download the complete list of guidelines and the 2014 scholarship application:
Don’t Miss the Bus
Once a year Bluegrass Cellular partners with local schools to gather supplies to benefit local schoolchildren in need. Community members are asked to bring school supplies to any of the designated locations around town. Those supplies are then collected and loaded onto a school bus. The goal each year is to fill the bus with school supplies! Want to learn how you can help? Click here for more information!
