Bluegrass Cellular Inc. announced the games to be featured in the third basketball season of its Battles in the Bluegrass high school sports program. Battles in the Bluegrass showcases rivalry games throughout central Kentucky. This year’s featured rivalries were selected with the help of a panel of Kentucky sports writers.
The 2013 season will feature the following games:
Russellville High School vs. Franklin-Simpson High School on Friday, January 11, 2013
Taylor County High School vs. Marion County High School on Tuesday, January 18, 2013
Pulaski County High School vs. Somerset County High School on Tuesday, January 29, 2013
Bardstown High School vs. Nelson County High School on Friday, February 1, 2013
Bluegrass Cellular launched Battles in the Bluegrass in 2010 as part of the company’s ongoing support of community high school athletics.
“In Kentucky, basketball is extremely popular, and Bluegrass is proud to support high school rivalries,” said Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Bluegrass Cellular. “We look forward to bringing our Battles crew to celebrate the spirit of competition with the community.”
Before each game, fans can log on to http://www.battlesinthebluegrass.com to view preview videos of each match up. Fans can also review video highlights online and support their team by voting in the Battles in the Bluegrass Play of the Season in February. The winning school will receive $1,000 from Bluegrass Cellular.
